Brief History of Leica Cameras
There is probably no logo as famous as the Leica red dot or cameras as prestigious (and expensive) as Leica cameras. Leica designed and commercialized the first 35mm film camera. Many iconic photographs of the past were taken with a Leica camera. Yet, in the 1970s, Leica was quickly sinking into irrelevance, photographers overwhelmingly preferring competitors' SLRs to the its rangefinder cameras. Faced with the eventual demise of this venerable brand, one man took the helm and carefully steered the company back from the brink to once again being the respected and most desired camera brand ever.
